English and P.E week 3

This week in P.E and English we learned about the Maori games Ki O Rahi.
Ki O Rahi is a game where everyone wears ripper rugby tags and there are two teams, one team runs around the outside of the circle and try to touch as many poles as possible without losing their tags.
Once they have touched at least one pole they have to run to the bigger circle and touch the ball on the ground to get points.

When I played learned that you have to be able to communicate with your teammates to be successful,
this also applies to the real world as in the workforce you have to be able to communicate with your co-workers.

Kabaddi and Lacrosse Week 2

This week in our joint P.E and English classes we studied Kabaddi and Lacrosse.
Kabaddi is a contact sport a bit like ball rush and Lacrosse is an American sport where you use nets that are on sticks to catch the ball and throw into goals, it was hard to get used to using the Lacrosse nets I would always pull the net to far back making the ball fall out of the net, also when the ball was rolling on the ground it basically turned into a game of Hockey, so after we got used to using the nets and how to scoop the ball off the ground the game looked more like the real sport.

Kabaddi has easier to adapt to as it involved tackling and stepping people, one player from a team would run to the other teams half and try to tag one of the other players and run back without being tackled, if the person successfully does this than the person that got tagged is now out and the tagger team gets a point.

Palin Reflection Week 1

This week in our joint P.E and English classes we studied Palin.
In our first class we found out how to play the game and where it is from (Chile)
We also went down to the beach to get sticks to play the game with as it is similar to Hockey, we didn't use Hockey sticks because when they played it they used sticks that had a bend at the end.
When we played it I had rolled my ankle so I couldn't play but I still learnt a lot by watch everyone else play.
